Things are finally getting back to normal here on the ranch after a long 3 weeks of Jeff recovering from an acl repair. Yes, right in the middle of wedding planning. Back in January Jeff tore his ACL at the Ft. Worth ranch rodeo. The doctor told him he could wait until after the wedding to fix it but he suggested getting it done right away to prevent further damage. I made the doctor promise me Jeff would be able to dance at our wedding. He said he will be blowin and going in no time and yes he will be able to dance at his wedding. The surgery went well and he is recovering nicely. At his first physical therapy session they said he was way more far along than he should be! So there will be lots of dancing at the wedding.
Being a cowboy and being told he can't do much for awhile is interesting. Jeff has been camped out on his living room floor (I call it his mud hole) with his bedroll, ice machine, cpm machine, pain medicine, jug of water, tie string rope (which he uses to rope anything in the near vicinity), a pile of books, notepads, and the remote for the past 3 weeks. We finally cleaned it all up and he has moved to the chair. He has gone back to work for half the day just feeding cows. He can't stand not working and was getting a little stir crazy. He started thinking what to do that wouldn't require him to walk around a lot but would make him feel like he was doing something..... Fishing! So Jeff's afternoons are now spent throwing a fishing rod. It has definitely lifted his spirit. I decided to tag along one evening and caught my first fish of the season! A 5lb bass, not a bad way to start the season!!
I know this post has been about Jeff and not very entertaining but that has been my life for the past 3 weeks. Refilling the ice cooler, getting more water, giving pain medicine, being the taxi, and so on and so on. It definitely wore me out but I would do it all over again for him. I'm sure he will pay me back one day. Like I said in the beginning, things are finally getting back to normal. And the wedding festivities are beginning!!!
