Coolness in the heat

The high for Throckmorton today is 105 degrees. I don't even need to look at the forecast for the rest of the week it will just say hot, hotter, and hotter! I am so thankful I was born in the era of air conditioning, I don't think I would have made a very good frontiers woman. Speaking of the frontier, Fandangle is here! It starts this Thursday and I am so excited that Jeff will make his debut appearance. I have been in the Fandangle my whole life and do not know life without it. It is exhausting by the time the last Saturday night performance rolls around, but a year not in it would be incomplete. It sadly has helped shape who I am. I love it. Lately I have not been very positive about it, but without it I think there would be a void in my life. It helps make my wonderful little town unique. The oldest outdoor musical in Texas, I mean no one else can say their town has that!

Can Can dancers! I'm the first one in the line.

At mass on Sunday as we were singing "Come Holy Spirit, Come" a line in the song stuck out to me. It said "a grateful coolness in the heat" I guess this rang true to me because of the record high temperatures, and you really start to understand a grateful coolness in the heat. I just love the holy spirit, I think lately I have been keeping him bottled up though. I can't continue to be filled with the spirit if I am already full. I was challenged yesterday to release it and to be sensitive and obedient when it stirs.
