Fun with the Gun...
I don't think this heat will ever end! It is so hot and miserable. During this heat wave which feels more like a heat monsoon, we have had to get creative. Normally in normal degree weather, Jeff and I spend most of our free time outsiede. It is just too umberable to do much of anything outside, so it has been difficult to keep ourselves out of bordem. Most of our evenings our spent in front of the TV these days. We love documentary and investigation shows. We have watched so many that I think I could almost get away with making Jeff disappear. JK I would never want to do that, then who would kill the skunks and snakes for me. We also watch a lot of Pawn Stars and even MORE of Everybody Loves Raymond. I know you might be finding yourself yawning as you read this but welcome to our world right now. We are a little boring.
We have done a few exciting things. The other night we went for a walk and noticed a skunk walking through the field. Jeff soon explains to me that you can kill a skunk with a rock if you hit him right on the head. Then, quicker than I can say you better not, he is off rocks in hand. Jeff then proceeds for the next ten minutes to kill the skunk. Defeated and out of breath Jeff finally returns back to a crossed armed, stomping foot wife. We walk back to the house, get his gun, and get on the mule. We take off back into the field where we now see 4 bushy black tails struting around. Four more skunks bite the dust, making our skunk tally 7! It was so fun!!
Two Saturdays ago, we had some more fun with the gun. Jeff was gathering a pasture earlier that week and noticed a group of water mocossins in a certain puddle of water by one of the tanks. We went out there with Jeffs gun, I stood back and watched Jeff shoot 4 mocassins. They were so gross and would start spinning as soon as they had been hit. It was like watching lonesome dove without the grousome ending. I like seeing snakes die so it made for an entertaining afternoon.
I hope these next couple of weeks get a little more exciting!
